Diversity Q & A

How would you respond to world poverty?

Penny

I am responding to world poverty with my whole life!  Making poverty history is one of my greatest passions and that is why I gave up my 'day job' and went around the world for two years connecting with communities facing all sorts of poverty – not just hunger, but the terrible effects of corruption, war and isolation.  I wanted to experience for myself the conditions many people live under and discover what difference I, as one tiny person on a very big planet might make.  What I learned is that there are a million things we can do but two of the most powerful actions are building friendships and connections with these people, showing them we care as well as living much more simply in general.  This is something everyone can do!
